Canada’s opioid crisis is out of control. Families are struggling to help affected loved ones overcome addiction. The Liberal government’s so-called safe supply program, giving taxpayer- funded opioids to people with addictions, has failed.

People struggling with addiction deserve compassion, treatment, and support. Alberta’s method of treatment is working. In January 2023, there were 111 overdose deaths, down from 172 at the same time last year. In NDP-led British Columbia, there were 211 overdose deaths in April 2023, a 17% increase from last year.

Hope is possible and hope is on the way. Conservatives will bring our loved ones home addiction-free and end taxpayer dollars for hard drugs while promoting recovery programs.
